“We arrived with five people (although the house was big enough for double that, easy!) and found an open, sprawling home with every amenity we could ask for. Another huge plus (especially after a half marathon race the next day): the hot tub is FANTASTIC! Very good size and in great operation. The grounds are something to note as well; there is no shortage of beautiful spots to sit and enjoy a lovely day or night, including a lovely observation deck perched next to the sloping hillside south of the house, and the area around the tasting room. Speaking of that, the tasting room was a wonderful bonus on Saturday, and the VX wine was quite good. Overall this is a very relaxing place to stay, and I’d come back with a good-sized group in a heartbeat!”
“We rented this house for my lovely cousin’s bachelorette party. She enjoys wine tasting, and Newberg has a thriving wine community. This house was the *best* choice for our festivities. Not only was it spacious, and stocked, but the beds were comfortable, the house was clean, the hot tub was perfect, and the grounds were stunning. We had photo shoots all over the property-there were exotic blooms everywhere, and if you enjoy birds this property will only add to your serenity. Even with a large-ish sized party, we were amazed at how little you could hear in the bedrooms. AC? Check. Dishwasher? Check. Stereo system? Check. Slipnslide? Check! We *all* fell in love with the house as soon as we saw it, and even more so once we went in. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. I will definitely be going back.”
“We enjoyed the peace and solitude at this sprawling acreage and guesthouse. If you’re looking for time away from it all, limited outside distractions, this is it, we recommend it. Had we known about it months before, we would have suggested it to our newlywed married Son and daughter-in-law to use as their rehearsal dinner locale.”
“This was our second stay, and it was just as great as the first. The house is very comfortable and well-appointed, the property is quite nice (with friendly horses!), and the kitchen and dining room in particular are well-suited for the culinarily-inclined. It is a bit of a drive to the bulk of the tasting rooms, but with a little planning this isn’t a major issue. Especially when you factor in the price, this is a fantastic property and we will be returning as long as they let us!”
“We rented the Vineyard Guest House as a hub for a group of extended family visiting relatives in Newberg over the Christmas holiday. We found everything to be just as described on the website: charming, secluded, cozy and warm! We did a lot of cooking, including a holiday feast, and found the expansive kitchen to be a wonderful feature. It is incredibly well stocked. If there was a utensil or serving plate we needed, it was there. There are even supplemental spices if you forget to bring something from home! As previous reviews had mentioned, the house is not trendy or newly updated with a lot of bells and whistles, but it fit our needs perfectly. It was sparkling clean and well maintained. We are even starting to think about planning a stay “in season” so we can experience the tasting room and make excursions to other vineyards as well. Becca, the manager is great to work with. The facility gets our highest recommendation!”
“I came to the Willamette Valley to kick off my 40th birthday celebration with some girlfriends and was so glad we chose to stay at the VX Vineyard Guest House. What a beautiful property and a fabulous house. The description of the house is very accurate, but actually almost doesn’t do it justice. There’s so much space! There were 7 of us in our group and we were never on top of each other. There’s plenty of room to sleep, relax, eat, whatever you want to do during your stay. The hot tub is a great addition as well. The entire property is beautiful. The proximity of the tasting room to the guest house is great - it’s the perfect way to kick of your stay with a complimentary tasting of some really good wine. The picnic tables surrounding the house are perfect for sitting down to enjoy some wine, a snack or even a cookout on the grill that’s available. I can’t think of a single thing that we needed that wasn’t there. The location in the town of Newberg is perfect if you’re touring the wineries in the valley. Newberg has plenty of shops and restaurants, not to mention more tasting rooms, just down the road from the VX property. It’s very easy to navigate. I can’t wait to return to this area again, and to stay at the VX Guest House again!”
